If you operate any business or organisation that is any structure other than a sole trader, you will need a myGovID to access any government web site.
If you’re are a sole trader, you will need a MyGov app (different to MyGovID). See here: https://my.gov.au/en/about/help/mygov-app
The first person to register and link their MyGovID to the organisation will be the Partner, Trustee, Director or on the board of directors of an incorporated entity. Additionally, you need to be named as one of the Principle Authorities connected to the entity in the Australian Business Register. (https://www.abr.gov.au/).
This is the person responsible for the business and must be the first person to set up access to Online services for business. If you’re not sure what role you have, see Get started. This person can then grant others access when they will not be the primary user.
Download the myGovID app (this is different to myGov) on your mobile phone, available from the App Store or Google and follow these instructions on how to set up your myGovID.
Choose your identity strength:
Note: myGovID is unique to you, using your personal information – you cannot share it with others.
You’ll need to link your myGovID to your Australian business number (ABN) using Relationship Authorisation Manager (RAM).
https://authorisationmanager.gov.au/
If you have a Strong myGovID go to RAM and log in. Select Link your business and follow the prompts.
Once linked, you’ll be authorised in RAM to act on behalf of the business and can set up authorisations for others to act on behalf of the business.
Use your myGovID to log in to ATO Online services for business.
